Designed for students from all artistic backgrounds, the course starts with the history of film. The course will focus on storytelling through editing and help student build fluency within the software while learning tips and tricks to speed up workflow.
Idea for all who are interested in telling stories through film and documentary storytelling. Students will gain a solid foundation of editing using real world projects and will improve their creativity and enhance their digital skill-set.
To prepare students for the real world work environment, there will be discussions about the film industry including but not limited to professional expectations and behavior, creative process, working environments, and career paths.
Seyi Is an award winning Director and Filmmaker who's doumentary "A Will of Iron" won an international award at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States. He has been working in Film for over 8 years and is passionate about telling compelling stories.
This 4-week course will involve a 3-hour workshop once a week with homework given after each workshop. Workshops will consist of lessons, demos, student presentations, and critiques. Homework will be submitted 2 days before the next class via online link. Classes will be collaborative with every student critiquing everyone else's work and defending their own work. The workshop will be intense and fast-paced however participants will leave having the necessary tools and confidence to take on any motion graphics project.
